Intensive «City-break» Spanish courses in Madrid

ISF are proud to present our new short-stay courses in Madrid. We have 20-hour (3-day) and 40-hour (5-day) courses starting in April for those who wish to improve their Spanish in a native setting. Cost-effective courses focused on cultural linguistics. they are not classroom based because in only 3 or 5 days you need to gain the most from your stay. Instead we start preparing you before you come, then bring you around the city, working on your Spanish in natural settings, helping you with your abilities to understand, describe, and explain what you see.

In groups of just 6 participants, it is far more intimate and productive than classroom courses, with more interaction and constant and direct contact with the teacher. The cost of the course is €225 for a 20-hour course and €425 for a 40-hour course which includes accomodation and breakfast with a host family. Flight prices are not included but we will advise you of some adecuate flights to book in time while reserving your course. Whether for fun or professionally motivated, you can treat it as an intensive city-break with language training or intensive language training with a city-break in one of the most dynamic capital cities in the world.

«Introduction to Tapas» sessions

In Madrid but you don’t fancy a long walking tour? Or simply want a short introduction to what the gastronomy is all about before you set out to conquer it with a fork? Well, we’ve the ideal solution. Join us at one of our “Introduction to Tapas” sessions which are held daily in central Madrid. In a comfortable and friendly setting we go through a short history of what “Tapas” is, and go through the regions of Spain describing their more famous dishes. All this while constantly bringing out fresh portions from the kitchen and a brief wine and cheese tasting section.

We’ll help you practice ordering, with phrases and prices, giving you typical requests and responses, but not overloading you either. Then, when it’s all over we’ll give you a few recommendations around the city of where to go for certain dishes that you have expressed an interest in.

¿Estás por Madrid pero no te apetece recorrer por la ciudad en busca de tesoros gastronómicos? ¿O simplemente quieres una introducción corta a la gastronomía antes de zarpar a las calles para conquistarlas con un tenedor? Pues, tenemos la solución ideal. Únete con nosotros en una de nuestras sesiones «Introducción a la Tapa» que se celebran diariamente en el centro de Madrid. Las ponemos en un local cómodo y ameno y pasamos por una historia cortita de lo que es «la tapa», visitando las regiones de España y describiendo los platos más famosos. Todo esto mientras vamos sacando porciones bien frescas de la cocina junto con una «mini-cata» de vinos y quesos.

Después, cuando hemos acabado, te pasamos unas recomendaciones sobre dónde se puede ir a tomar aquellos platos que más te interesan.

After having spent years working solely in provision for the business sector we have now decided to bring more of our services for the public, to give the same level of service that our executive guests receive at a competitive price in the tourism market.

There is a lot of competitition in the Tapas world but, as a company with a personal touch that has kept a lot of officials of all levels and their guests happy for such a long time, we feel that the public in general will be very happy to have us as a choice during your stay here.

We’ve been all over Madrid and Barcelona since the beginning, picking out establishments that we like, and get good feedback about. There are no contracts or commissions so we’re free, we don’t go back to the same place for any reason other than we want to, which is how it should be.

We go into the cuisine of all the regions (Communities) and provinces of Spain, finding everything from the staple household names to the most extravagant, unknown quantities. We can customize and build a tour or bring you on a route that we know will show you a good mix of what’s here to please your palette.

There are a myriad of different tours with different companies with different tours so why choose us? Well, there are several reasons.

1) As far as we know, we are the only group to offer a comprehensive tapas tour package. We start preparing you for it before you even get here so you can take more advantage of it. Instead of it being a time-filler it is more of an interactive experience with us.

2) Most will agree a meeting point but we offer a collection service if so desired, we don’t all book rooms outside the starting point.

3) No doubts in the pricing; a lot of tours put the price but don’t say exactly what it includes, indeed many charge more for less, just including the minimum of tapas in one establishment and leaving you to put your hand in your pocket for the rest of the tour. We cover much more, and you only take out your wallet if you really want to, every establishment is covered.

4) If it’s raining, we supply the umbrellas!

5) We don’t owe/receive any favours or commissions to/from any places we visit, we are in complete control of the tours and offer constant variations of them.

6) This is not our sole activity, we have been doing this with business tourists for years as part of greater activities, we can provide more for a better price due to our resources.

There´s little time left until the next World Cup in Brazil and we´ll be there for the big party. The South-American country is guaranteed to be the greatest tourist point of 2014 in which it is sure to receive over 600,000 visitors for the event. Cities such as Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Salvador de Bahia are already prepared to entertain their guests with cultural and gastronomic spectacles in their many tourist points.
